University Of Alberta Faculty Association Collective Agreement

We noticed the problem when the CEW began to receive complaints from faculties who were denied treatment of THE PERA, suspended funding by research and research assistants, and simply did not receive an answer to their questions. At some point in the summer, the administration seems disoriented when it comes to faculties that take their annual leave and have decided to integrate different university departments into a work-related university function. As a result, it appears that staff have been given an administrative directive not to deal with the faculty. To be clear, this has never been a job to govern the action imposed by the faculties association. Resources for senior and executives to assist in the implementation of collective agreements and manuals. The result of the complaint was that the CEW was assured that in the future there would be more clarity on the part of the administration with respect to the evaluation changes. Clarity was also achieved with respect to the suspension of faculty evaluations. These are suspended for the calendar year 2020. We asked for more information on the separation of the two evaluation areas, clarity on the use of the collected data and data protection when transmitted internally and/or externally. We also requested that the spring assessments be completely destroyed, but we received no confirmation of the use or destruction of the collected data. We are still seeing areas that need to be discussed with the administration and we will keep members informed. The CEW`s position on annual leave remains, as always, in accordance with Article 12 of the collective agreement.

This section entitles certain faculties of annual leave and the article is neither dictated nor denied activities. This collection is a great resource for students, graduates or anyone who is currently looking for a job. For more information on the collective agreement and the visit: Thank you for everything you do during this difficult time. I recognize that it has not been easy — that many of you are dependent on young and old, and that the boundaries between work and life are considerably blurred. I am also aware of the toll this has taken on collective and individual mental health. We appreciate everything you do – and look forward to having a good woman in the near future. The CEW is concerned about the total number of problems that have been submitted to us by faculty members during the annual leave. We believe that these issues are, for the most part, only violations or misinterpretations of the collective agreement by the administration, issues that could not have been addressed if the collective agreement had been respected. As usual, we are here to defend the rights of faculties, for all faculties of all functions. As many of you know, the deadline for the declaration of Tenure, Promotion and Renewal is open until June 15, 2020 and applications are due September 1, 2020. The Council of General Faculties (GFC) has the authority to define the evaluation criteria and establish academic standards for the mandate, promotion and renewal, and can delegate the development of faculty guidelines to faculty boards to ensure that different aspects of different disciplines are taken into account in the application of the criteria.
