I got the lid off the WetJet bottle by unscrewing it with a pair of pliers. Once I'd taken it off a time or two that way, it got easier and I can do it by hand now. I'm guessing that at some point (probably soon) I'll have to spring for a new bottle, since it will probably lose its seal eventually. I have used Murphy Oil Soap on my cabinets--the concentrated kind, diluted with water in a spray bottle. It takes the gunk off with a lot of elbow grease, but doesn't leave a very nice finish. If my cabinets weren't so dark it would probably be fine.

Hi Lisa -

I'm curious - how did you get the solution for the floor IN the WetJet bottle? I've not figured that one out yet - I love the WetJet, but not the price for the solution-bottles.

re: cabinets - have you tried Murphy's Oil Soap? It's gentle and non-toxic and a little goes a long way. I don't end up with a shiny surface on my cabinets (ever) with it, but I think I'd have to use Pledge or something similar for that, and I'm not using Pledge in the kitchen. :P

First off, I have to say that I'm amazed you've had that many tries at mopping your floor. All those attempts would last me a year ;) I read somewhere that the best solution on tile floors like ours is just warm water (and traditional mop and bucket). That's what I've been doing so far this year. This assumes that your floor is not too dirty, and just needs a touch-up.
